Leaders have to give up to go up – what it pays to be a great leader

When I read this phrase my first thought was, “What?” Then I thought about these things:

When you become a leader, you lose the right think about yourself.

Maybe because you prioritize the good of others than yours. You sacrifice your own just to help your people?

Because great leaders give their time, effort, for the sake of the person he is mentoring? For that person to become the best he can be?

yeah.. if you want to be a leader, you don’t think about yourself. In the professional scope, you will share or give the spotlight to that person you are developing. A leader will not grab the creditΒ from his mentee. Leaders give you space where you can grow, learn and they are ready to guide you whenever you needed their guidance.

A leader is not selfish, he push each member of the team to be on top of their games. He knows the weaknesses and focus on the strengths.

If these things should be done to be a great leader, oh boy… it’s tough.
